Lately I have been working on a website (to be revealed soon) and the client wanted Os Commerce integrated. As I have been working in mods and writing my own, I was reminded about how great of a solution it is. When clients come to me asking what e-commerce solution I recommend, I have always said Os Commerce. There are probably a lot of design firms out their that would shy upon me for doing so, but who cares. Most of the time, companies will say they will build a custom e-commerce solution hand coded and from the ground up. Yeah, to me that’s pretty pointless, and it just shows their craving to suck more money out of their clients. I am not one that likes doing that. And to be honest, we have enough work coming in that we don’t need to suck more out of our clients.
Basically evey mod that you could ever want in a shopping cart exists in Os Commerce, and if it doesn’t then you can easily integrate it. For this recent client, we added an ability for users to upload files during the checkout process. No problem. I can’t say enough about Os Commerce. I marvel at the guys that run it, and the amazing community of members that has been created. That’s what the internet is all about, sharing information. My hat off to Ponce De Leon and others (whoever that is). As for Modern Blue, we will keep using it and supporting it.
